Traditional Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients:
1 quart Pine Barrens Native Fruits Fresh Cranberries
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups water
Instructions:
1 – Wash Cranberries.
2 – Put water and sugar in medium size pot over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
3 – Add cranberries; stir occasionally allowing to come to a boil and all skins to pop. Smash cranberries against sides of pan with spoon for a more jelly consistency or stir gently for a more whole cranberry sauce. Stir until desired appearance.
4 – Cool and serve.
Variations:
Add nuts, raisins, coconut, diced apples, or a few tablespoons of crushed pineapple.
Or replace some or all of the water with apple juice or orange juice and reduce sugar.
This is my classic cranberry sauce recipe. It is a fan favorite!
A staple for your Thanksgiving dinner table.
Enjoy, Brenda.
